Hello everyone!!

Just found this forum... and hopefully I'll be able to count on it for support...

I'm a 21yr young female from ontario canada, and I've been over weight for most of my life. Currently unsure of my weight, as I've been just too scared to even get on a scale. I personally think I'm over 300lbs.

I'm getting tired of being over weight, and I want to get into shape. Feel happy about the person I am, as well as just be healthy!!!

So here I am, looking for some help and support.... unsure on what type of diet and exercise I could be doing.... sooo....... hopefully I'll find what im looking for here!!

Welcome, welcome!!

Well there's plenty of exercises that are easy to start with like walking or riding a stationary bike.

Also you can check out Ironman's topic in before and after for the best motivation on the site and then after that Jeremy Rice's diary for the 2nd best motivation on the site.

Before these though check out Steve's stickied threads in the On Topic section I believe it is. He's given a ton of good advice for beginners and well everyone.

Welcome to the community! :)

So it sounds like you're ready for a change. That's great. I think what you'll find is that this place doesn't really recommend once particular mode of exercise or one particular, pre-packaged diet.

What we do recommend is finding what works for you... and this can come in any package. Usually the more balanced an approach, the more likely it'll work.

You have a lot of weight to lose. You certainly aren't alone.... there are quite a few people around 'wearing the same shoes' as you.

That said though, with that amount of weight to lose, pretty much anything will work. I'd start off by focusing on your diet. How do you normally eat? What do you normally eat? What are your likes and dislikes? Have you tried dieting before?

In terms of exercise... pretty much anything that you can stay consistent with will work for now. Would you consider joining a gym? Do you have any sort of equipment at home?

Look forward to hearing from ya!
