I am a 52 year old short fat male. I quit smoking about 6 months ago and gained (another) 10 pounds.
I have been in and out of fitness and dieting my entire life, and here we are again. Fortunately I have most of the fitness equipment that I need to give me a great workout. For the last 2 weeks, I have been riding an excercycle for a 1/2 hour a day, 6 days a week, and lifting weights 30 minutes, 3 times a week. I am really starting to feel good but the weights not really going down.
I realize that I'm replacing some of the fat with muscle, but it's time to diet along with the excercise. I would like to lose 30 pounds. Two pounds a week sounds slow, but realistic. Four would be better.
30 pounds doesnt sound like a lot, but it is to me.
