Newbie to weight loss and forums!

Hello! I am new :)
love love love everyones before and after pics so helpful!
I am brand new to these forum like things so hopefully I haven't done anything wrong so far :s you should have seen me try to figure out my ticker thing!
anyway I was hoping some of you.. any one please..could give me some tips on staying motivated!!! I have bought the elliptical and certain DVDs and even lost 3 pounds WOOOOOOOooo BUT! Im getting so bored of dragging my butt downstairs to climb on the elliptical or do Hip Hop ABs in my living room(where I am sure the neighbors can see right though my shears) sooo how do YOU do it???? MY STORY..Iam 5'3 and 24 years old...currently 132 and want to get back down to my wedding weight of 115...I gained almost 50 pounds while prego(2years ago)..after i had baby most of the weight just came off on its own..Ive never had to exercise before now and I'm finding it absolute torture!! I have 17 pounds to go and no motivation! hoping this helps!
 
Hello cher, welcome to the forum. It can be really hard to get that last bit of weight off. I too gained most of mine while pregnant (30 lbs melted right off and the other 30 fought me all the way), but I'm finding this last 10 lbs nearly impossible to get off. You're much younger than me so hopefully you wont run into the same problem. But it really does take some effort to cut back on your portions or find some other way to cut your calories by substituting some of your normal foods for lower calorie options. Unfortunately, the body just never looks as good as when we're exercising. Especially using weights, that really adds a lot to the look of your physique. So the only way to get that really hot body is unfortunately to sweat it out. Oooohhh I hate it myself but we just have to push ourselves. I have a short term plan of doing 6 hours per week for the next 8 weeks. I normally would never stick to it but summer's COMING and I'm getting desperate LOL. Good luck to ya.

Hey there. I'm trying to lose 20 pounds and sometimes it's a struggle to get to the gym. I just tell myself how good I'll look when the weight comes off. I am seeing small results but sometimes I wish it would move faster! Welcome to the board!

Do you have a trainer at the gym or do you just do your own thing?
I m thinking of getting a trainer..expensive.. but a friend of mine just did it for a month and lost 11lb!! know she can do the rest bye herself.
Im finding that If I'm not in the mood to work out I just put on my mp3(that up beat Avril song Girlfriend is fun) for a couple songs and it really make you wanna move ...love dancing!
 
if exercise feels like torture maybe you havent found what is right for you yet? is there a particular activity you enjoy like swimming, dancing, tennis?

ahem...anyway..I just had a question/bad experience.
After exercising today..about 15 min straight of sit-ups, lunges..etc.. I all of a sudden got really dizzy/shaky and felt sick to my stomach. I think I almost passed out. An hour later and I'm still feeling kinda off....like wobbly. I was only going at a moderate level..nothing intense...I can do 30 min intense on the elliptical and not even breath hard. what happened? has this happened to any of you before?
I'm new to this exercise stuff.

That sounds like how I feel when suffering a hypoglycemic episode. Eating a piece of fruit or something similar helps...but it take pure time to get the body feeling normal again.

I don't know if that's what you're experiencing, but you may want to google hypoglycemia to see if it sounds like what you are experiencing.

ETA...if you go back to the newcomers forum, there should be an orange button on the left hand side of the page to start a new thread.

yes..love all those things! buttt...
Im am stuck indoors most of the day..I run a dayhome 7am-5 or 7pm..Its crazy but fun...just not much me time(sometimes I do a DVD during nap time). After work by the time I'm done clean-up,made super for the hubby, put baby to bed,clean-up again and prepare for the next day its usually around 9:00pm or later and the exercise options seem to be very limited. After chasing around six kids all day its hard to be motivated to do anything else but lay on the couch and read :). I can't even get to the gym in the morning cause my hubby leaves for work at 6am..I have my lil guy and the other kids arrive at 7am. *SIGH* excuses excuses right? I guess there are always weekends!
any ideas/tips are largely welcomed!!
