Newbie starting Bernstein

Hi everyone, I've made the best decision - loose the weight that I've put on in the last two years (stopped exercising but kept on eating). Somehow I have managed to gain 50 pounds. I've decided to start the Bernstein diet here at the clinic. My consult is on Thursday. A lot of my friends have had great success with it (average loss is about 16 pounds per month). Yes I know it's strict but it's medically supervised. Expensive yes but so is all that junk food.

In the meantime, cut out the junk food, get my ass in gear and start walking more and take advantage of the gym here in the building. I'm looking forward to reading the posts and getting to know everyone.

Thanks, Karen

Hi there Karen,

I was interested in the Bernstein diet, but once I found out the cost, I back-peddled my way out. hahaa However, do let us know how that goes for you! By the way, welcome to the forum and I'm wishing you the best.

Isnt it funny how we dont realize the weight we gain and then its so hard to try to lose it? Lifestyle changes are the best way to lose in my opinion.

mic510... egads, you're telling me. My breaking point to clean up my act was when I was asked to be a paul bearer for my grandfather's funeral this past February. I am the largest of 6 grandchildren who were paul bearers. As we were walking down the church aisle, I had to actually walk sidewards, because I couldn't fit betw/ the casket and the pues. I was so embarrassed. Not only was I crying because I lost my grandfather, but because the whole ordeal just made me so depressed. I honestly had no idea I was that big.
