Newbie Questions.

Hi there, newbie, (first post). I've decided to get into a workout regimen, my goal being to gain strength (lift heavier). I'm pretty fit already, 17yr, 5'6", 135lb, 13% body fat (according to the bathroom scale that is). I'm a student and I work on cars all the time so I count that as a decent work out (enough to make 'ya sweat hard, doing it for 8 hours straight).

I have no idea where to start, I've never lifted before. I'll be working out at home (no gym membership, no money at all) I have access to free weights.

I checked the stickies at the top!!!! And I'm still lost. From what I read it seems like I need to ask you for help, lol.

I'm open to any/all suggestions so feel free to fire away.
I have a feeling I'm going to be training "rocky style". lol

i would consider bill stars 5x5(u can google it).
also use exrx.net for exercise info. they can also help u with workouts. a informational site.

Firstly, ghs09 that's a great website you recommended although plain. :)

hey gumcrew2, you should scan this forum and read the resources that many kind souls here have provided.

In addition, you have to define what are your goals. What are you working out for? Then you can work towards a plan, we can chip in too. Hope that helped you.

I'll scout through the pages this evening. My main goal is not neccesarily to lift the heaviest weight or something but more of being able to manuver with weights better. I constantly am moving bulky, oblong, and odd-shaped car parts and I'd really like to be able to do it better. These weigh anywhere from 70-300 pounds and I struggle with the bigger stuff (moving an axle, approx. 260, just like a dead lift and it took me half an hour to get it from the backyard to the front yard.) And yes, I'm a redneck, lol. I'll scout through here though before posting other stupidnewbie questions
