Hello all..
I'm here because I need to lose a few pounds. I'm not hugely overweight, but just enough to be concerned..I , and my hubby need to be healthy and practice good eating habits all of the time, not just some of the time..
You see, I am a long term survivor of AIDS and developed Cardiomyopathy a few years back...Nothing stops me however,I am a fighter .As far as I'm concerned living 17 years with this disease is already a victory.
As for my husband, on Jan 27th 2007 he had emergency open heart surgery to correct an Aortic dissection, the very same thing that killed John Ritter..He had a very long and complicated recovery. He lost almost 70 pounds in 3 months in the hospital and has gained 25 back..That's OK but aymore gain will be very bad and also tough on his artificial Aortic Valve.
For anyone interrested out story is here on my blog...His is on the bottom and is quite remarkable too as only about 10% survive a type a dissection.
We both hope to be here for a long time with our kids, and so we need to get very serious.

Welcome! I read some of your blog - amazing! You are an amazing person! :) I have a friend from a support group that has had AIDS for many years and is doing well so it's great to hear of another person doing well. Hugs!
