Hello everyone! So glad to have found this forum!

I just hit the big 40 this year! And have gained what I consider to be significant amount of weight for the first time. I have put on 15 pounds this year alone. I figure something must be hormonally wrong with me! I have always maintained a healthy weight and up until this year, did not gain more than 10 or so pounds since high school! Looking forward to sharing my weight loss journey and hopefully my weight loss success!

Heya

Welcome to the forum! great to have you along! You may find that taking up a sport in your case might be the key to maintaining, generally your weight will slowly creep up as you get older because you have less calorie requirements :)

Thanks for the tip! But I actually go to the gym on average 3 times weekly and still gained weight! I spoke with a personal trainer who advised me that I need to work out more intensely....great!

Yeah, you will need to do something that involves your heart rate to actually be significantly higher for a decent amount of time to impact it, running, cycling, swimming, etc.
Listen to the PT . Also, check the snacks you are eating, and sizes of the meals you are having!
