Newbie in need of help

Hello all. I am new and have no idea where to start. I am 5' 7" and weigh 260. I made the first step and joined a gym. The thing is I don't even know where to start at the gym. I have been better with my diet but I need to know a workout routine. Something I can follow at the gym to lose weight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

So tell me what goals are you trying to achieve? Any time frames?
 
Well if you just joined the gym, the first thing you should do is get familiarized with the equipment. The staff at the gym should have given you a tour and described which part of the body each machine targets/works out. ALso, check out the group fitness classes (they should be free) - I find that I'm more motivated when I'm working out with a group.
