Hi all! I'm a homemaker from Eastern Canada.
I'm ridiculously overweight (5 foot 7, 267 pounds) and have been wanting to lose weight and get fit for years. About five weeks ago something switched and I went from having excuses one day to doing something about it the next.
I've been watching what I eat, getting educated about nutrition and counting calories. Being a computer geek I found software to help me track it. I started out doing 15 and 20 minute workouts in my kitchen with canned goods for hand weights as well and finally reached the point last week where nothing was hurting when I woke up the next day after a workout! Big day for me.
Now I've got a routine of 30 minutes of cardio and 20-30 minutes of upper body/abs or lower body/flexibility 6 days out of 7 and I'm absolutely loving it. I've lost about 10 pounds so far but honestly, it's the exercise that I'm really enjoying and the weight loss is just a side benefit.
Anyhow, I had to find a place where I good get advice and talk to people who were enthusiatic and knowledgeble about fitness.
