Both to the forum and to the world of fitness. At the end of February of this year, I bought a 70 lb. heavy bag w/stand as a birthday present to myself. I saw it as the perfect way to fulfill my mental needs (as a healthy outlet to deal with stress/frustrations) and my physical desire to get fit. My work outs generally involve jump roping, boxing, and swimming. I started with 300 jump ropes and have worked my way up to 5,000. I do them in groups of 100 with a short break as needed. It takes about 1-1.5 hrs followed by 20 minutes or so of boxing and then jumping in the pool for a 30-60 minute swim. However, this routine is only 2-3 days/week. The other days I usually pop in a fun DVD, like belly dancing or Richard Simmons! What a hoot he is. I also swim most days of the week, weather-permitting. I've lost about 20 lbs., but I'd love to lose another 15-20. I'm 31, 5'4, and currently 161 lbs.
