I'm new at this. I would like to stop drinking soda pop. Today is day 1 without it. I had to much caffeine yesterday that I had a hard time sleeping last night. I had about 20 oz of water today. I know that isn't a lot but that is a lot for me. I hate drinking water. There is no taste in it.

I also would like weighting healthier.I work at a Wendy's in my town so I'm around the fast food all day. It is hard for me not to eat the food. Today I had a salad for lunch. It was great. Today we had ham, mashed taters, and corn.

My goal is to weigh 130 lbs. I weigh 215.5 lbs right now. I'm 5'6" tall. I really don't exercise but I like to go for walks every now and again.

That's all for now. Please let me know if you have any advise about anything.I would really appropriate it.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

AWelcome to the forum. Check out the sticky threads, there is lots of great info in them, and maybe start a diary. Good luck! :)

AWelcome Eliza. The sticky threads are at the top of every section in the forum. If you click on the Newcomers section. You'll see them above all the other posts. :)

Thanks for that. It is nice to meet you too. I'm still new to this site. When you get a replay to a thread aren't you suppose to get something on here to let you know that you got one? I never got one. How and where do i go to make sure that I get them?

AYou just click on "my profile" at the top of the main page, click on "edit account details", and in there you will find a section for email preferences. You can set it in there how you want to be notified for all the threads that you subscribe to....daily, weekly, no notice, etc. It also has a line in there that says "Visit the edit subscriptions page to prune and customize your updates".....you can click on that link and change the settings for individual subscriptions. Like for me...my default setting is set for no notice, but my personal diary I have set up for an instant email. So it can be customized. Hope that helps. :)

I changed it to site only. So that means that when I get on this site i will get the replay that someone posted on my thread? I hope that's right.

ASetting it to site only means you won't get any emails to threads that you reply to. They will show up as having updates to them under your subscriptions, but that's it. You will have to come here and check , you won't be notified by email. (There's a link at the top to go to your subscriptions by the way.) I'm not sure if it will change threads that you already subscribed to though, so you might want to click on that link and make sure that they are set how you want. :)

Great thanks Jen. I was wondering about that too Amber, cos I didn't get notified either! Will have a look at the settings now! :)

AHi,
I too am addicted to dizzy juice. Although I don't drink full sugar (my addiction is with Pepsi max) I don't drink tea or coffee so dizzy drinks all the way for me. I was drinking it at breakfast and drank 3litres a day of the stuff. Although its calorie free (the diet stuff) its still not good for u at all. So I've forced myself to drink water. I drink 2-3litres of it when I'm at work and restrict myself to 1-2 glasses of fizzy juice per day with my dinner.
Why don't u add a bit of squash to ur water? I personally hate squash and would rather have the plain water. Or have a dash of lime cordial with some soda water. Don't cut it out completely at first cos the headaches are a killer.

AThanks. No I don't have a diet plan yet. I'm just trying to eat right. I don't drink soda pop anymore. I'm trying to exercise too. I have asthma so sometimes it is hard for me to workout. My asthma is pretty bad. Many years ago I started to work out and would have stop because my asthma would start to act up. There were times I would finish my workout and I couldn't breathe. At the beginning of the year I started getting on the bike. It is a stationary bike so it doesn't go anywhere. I did that for a couple of months and did pretty good. Then I moved my mom here and I didn't get to do that anymore. Do you have any ideas? I would love to hear them.

Hi Amber, Congrats on starting your weight loss journey! By addressing the soda issue you will certainly start to see positive results soon. Sodium benzoate found in some

sodas has been shown to worsen asthma symptoms.Plus soda provides no nutritional benefits, just empty calories. Since you do have asthma stick with the walking at first.

Once you lose some weight it should become easier to push yourself a little harder. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Best Regards,

Mark

AI'm really into losing this weight. I need to do it for my health. I have trouble taking the dog out. When I get back in the house I'm huffing and puffing. I don't like feeling like this. I was looking for hardcore's post on here but i guess he deleted it. I do need some help with this. I do have a account with fitday. I think that is what he said. I just haven't been on there in a long time. I have to wait until tomorrow to by a tape measure so I can get my inches in. I would like to see the inches melt off. Well anyway. That's all for now.

Thanks for reading my post.

AIf ur asthma stops u from doing any high intensity workout, start with a gentle 15min walk 3-4 times a week. Once u start to lose weight your asthma symtoms may not seem so bad so u could increase to 30mins.
If u managed a stationary bike have u thought about getting a real bike? U don't have to go far just start off going round the block. I just bought a bike for £30 so not expensive and I'm just doing short journeys just now...tbh I can't go any further on it cos my ass kills me so I'll have to get a gel filled seat before I do any more cycling.
Keep us updated x

AI love going for walks. I can walk for more then 30 minutes. I went for a 2.1 mile walk in 43 minutes with my daughters. I felt great after. I would love to get a bike. Just have to get the money to get one. I will get one, one day.
