Newbie here - lost the weight and now looking to tone and build endurance

Hi Everyone!

A little about me first: I'm a 25 y/o female, married, no kids, working towards my B.A. in English. I was your typical child, but hit puberty young and gained a lot of weight. I was overweight/slightly obese (by bmi standards) from 13 until 24. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 23 (PCOS is a insulin-resistant disease). Although I hate having PCOS, I was happy to finally have an answer for why it was sooo hard for me to lose weight. My maternal Grandmother is diabetic and my mom was at risk for gestational diabetes during her pregnancies, so I knew this was something I needed to deal with. Around March of 2012 I finally made an actual commitment to weight loss and began by cutting out soda, and most sugary/processed foods. Since then I have lost nearly 50 lbs and am finally at a healthy weight. I didn't do a lot of exercising though, and consequently I still have quite a bit of belly fat. I'm now working on toning my body and building endurance. I found this board through a google search and decided to join as I like to surround myself with like-minded people (even if only on the web). It helps me stay grounded and committed.

I'm not sure what the rules are for posting links, but if it's ok I can come back and post a link to imgur where I have an album with pictures of my weight loss progress.

I look forward to having some great conversations via posts.

Happy New Year!
