Hi Guys,
I'm a 20 year old male with a height of 6.2 and a weight of about 220 pounds. This week (since Monday) I've decided I really want to lose weight as I'm pretty pudgy at the moment, which is not a good look in all honesty. I've been running everyday for 30 minutes and intend to keep doing that, but today I'm resting as my muscles really hurt. I've nealry cut out all chocolate and junk food and I'm only drinking water, orange juice with water(50/50), and tea.
I probably take in about 1400 calories a day and I eat allot of fruit, mainly tomato's and mango's. Is this OK? Could someone please give me a plan of action? Basically I want to know how many pounds I should lool to loose overall and how many pounds I should aim to loose a week. I want to eventually be pretty trim and maintain a good weight, and I just don't care how much hard work it takes. I'm really motivated and dedicated now, especially since I'm at Uni and there's plenty of nice girls:willy_nilly:

Thanks guys.

hey Josh,
take a look at the thread "fat to Muscle". I gave some recommendations there that you may be able to use to accelerate your body transformation!

1400 cals for someone your height, and for a male too, is pretty low! Check out livestrong.com or sparkpeople.com to see where you should aim to be eating.
Usually 1800-2200 is good for weight loss for a guy. Eating cleaner and running are the best things you can do. Just don't starve yourself- or your metabolism will slow right now and you certainly won't be setting yourself up for a healthy life.

Ok i'll ramp the calories up a bit. How many pounds a week should I aim to loose?, and how many pounds overall?

Cheers.
