Hi everyone! I have been on umpteen weight loss forums - still fat.

I'm 47, live in the Tidewater area of Virginia and have been trying to lose weight for 15 years or more. My top weight was 225, about 5 years ago when I developed Graves Disease. All of my little health hazards are under control now and I am ready to do this or die!!!

Going to the Y at least three times a week, has made me feel better but hasn't helped me lose weight. I just started keeping track of the inches so I'm not sure of the the fat to muscle ratio as of yet. I have been a Y member since March of last year. So I am thinking my nutritional needs are being overmet : )

SOOOOO - looking for nutrition help. Need low carbs but not Atkins - lost down to 170 about 2 years ago, got bored with it (platued for a year) quit and gained it all back. Tried no whites, didn't work. Tried vegetarian, didn't work. I HAVE NO METABOLISM - well, enough to keep me breathing.

Hopefully, I can find a good dietician/nutritionist to help me so that my love for excersing will pay off.

Nice to meet everyone and let me know about you.

Welcome to the forum, and hopefully you can find the support you need to get that weight off and keep it off! My name is Britta, and I just recently started in this weight loss endeavor myself. If you haven't already read around at the stickies in the forums, that's a great place to start, not to mention documenting in a dairy! Hope to see you around the forums!
