I quit smoking a few years back and gained the weight I am so anxious to take off now...Hoping to get in touch with someone who I can join forces with, talk to, rant with etc..

Be sure and read the sticky posts in the various forums - especially the exercise and nutrition ones.
As far as exercise, there are a lot of things you can do inside, even if you don't have access to a gym. Pick up a few DVDs to keep you going, and look into some bodyweight exercises .. things like squats, lunges, pushups, pullups, etc. They'll help not only with the weight loss, but with reshaping your body and helping to maintain lean muscle.
