Newbee here

hello everybody :)
I'm 39 from San Diego CA area. 5'9 170 lb. I'm a heavy smoker but now it's time for me to quit (again). I did that in the past, but problem I've had with quiting is I started gain a lot's of weight.
I want to start work out, and I would appreciate any input. hope to find a solution here and just have a good time in general.

Congrats on your decision to quit smoking-- that's a tough thing to do, but you can do it. I quit 6 months ago -- just keep in mind you need to try and focus on quitting. Once you've quit, then you can tackle the remaining "problem" of any weight gain.

It's not impossible to quit and lose weight/get in shape, just potentially tougher.

In any case, this is a great place to read and learn. Welcome--

Quitting smoking makes food taste so much better. I think that's partially why we eat more while quitting. Try to choose healthy snacks and fruits and limit portions. Good luck and it's worth it to breathe better!:)
