Hi I'm new here! I guess I'll start with my interesting little story! To start off with I'm 245 lbs and I am working on getting down to at least 150 lbs. I quit smoking a month ago and I'm really working at being a healthier person. I want to enjoy all the benefits of being at a healthy weight.

I haven't always been heavy. In high school I was a few pounds overweight and joined weight watchers...I didn't know how to maintain the weight loss and gradually my weight increased. It didn't really get bad until my first semester in college ( I have been in for 3.5 year now). When I got to college it was almost a steady increase. I've finally had enough and I am following the weight watchers plan on my own at home. I face lots of challenges and have to stay very motivated because my fiance does not wish to eat healthy and still smokes. My goal is to lose all 100 pounds by December of 2008! So that is me in a nutshell! I can't wait to meet everyone here!

congrats on quitting smoking and also for wanting to lose weight as well... great start to a healthier lifestyle and one without yellow teeth, stinky hair and clothes too :)

Do start yourself a diary and read around the forum -there's tons of helpful advice and good information...

have fun while you're here and much success on your journey

Welcome and congrats on the quitting smoking!

You covered your food plan, but are you doing any type of exercise? It'll help a great deal, and you will be more likely to keep the weight off after you have lost it if you work exercising into your new lifestyle as well as eating healthily.

What is your major?

I haven't started exercising yet. I hope to start of with walking though soon and then work my way up...I'm an education major!
