Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello
.
A little about me...I'm 160 lbs and trying to get back down to 130 lbs. At 5 ft 4 inches tall, the weight really shows.
So, as I said in the title, I'm new to this forum but not new to dieting. Which I'm sure is the same situation for a lot of people on here.
The trouble with me is that I'm a comfort/boredom eater and like many people, I eat a whole lot when I'm tired. Unfortunately, with a 2 year old, I'm usually exhausted after only being awake a few hours.
I also make excuses that I need junk food in the house for my kids because I think they shouldn't have to suffer just because I'm not eating it. Deep down though I know that they really don't need that garbage either.
Crisps and chocolate bars are my biggest problem. If we have them in the house, they don't last 5 minutes and what do I do? I decide to buy more of it the next time I'm out shopping so that maybe it will be too much for me and I'll actually save some to have as a treat but that never happens. I'm sure there are others that know exactly what I'm talking about.
Exercise is also a problem. Not a huge one though. I bought a rowing machine last week and I have been using it every other day but I can only do a couple minutes on it. That's my first step though so I'm not too worried. I know it's going to take some time to shift this weight.
I also have a cross trainer that I've had for a couple of years. It's really good and I used to use it every day for at least 20 minutes. I could eat and eat and eat then and still not put on weight. As soon as my son got old enough to walk, I lost the energy to use it anymore and that's when things went downhill and the weight crept up on me.
After a lot of thought, I've come to the conclusion that since I'm a pretty competive person and I'm probably not going to get as much sleep as I used to for a long, long time, maybe I need a dieting buddy. I need to find someone who will make it like a game and egg me on to keep at it and I will do the same for them.
I know how to eat right and just have to get back into the swing of things. I know it will also help just to moan about things now and again. This is a great medium for moaning too because if anyone doesn't want to hear it, they don't have to read it. LOL... I will try hard not to moan too much though but when I go without chocolate for too long, I tend to get a bit miserable.
So, any support I can get, I'll take. Anyone who wants a dieting buddy who has a competitive nature, I'm your woman. Anyone who just wants to moan about things in general, I'm also your woman. I won't moan about dieting since I think it's good to look at it as a positive thing and not negative but My kids, my husband, being tired...well, that's what I'll moan about mostly. Hehehe.
Oh, and any Fitness nuts out there I'm very interested in hearing from you because I don't want to just lose weight, I'd like a toned, ripped body. I was on my way to an athletic build before I had kids and I'd like to finally achieve that now since I don't plan on having any more. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
If you've made it this far without falling asleep
, I applaud you because if I read a post this long, I'd probably be off to dreamland by now. Geesh, I do go on a bit don't I...better end it now.
Thanks for reading.
