Hi everyone, i'd just like to introduce myself to the forum. I am a 21 year old college senior who has fallen into the college trap over the past couple years and put on some weight since high school. I'm currently 5'6 at 175 lbs. My longterm goal is to get back down to 150,where I was throughout high school.
My biggest problem, or the biggest cause of my weight gain I guess, comes with the typical weekend. See, I always eat healthy during the week: small meals consisting of brown rice, veggies, salads, chicken, fish, etc. But then the weekend comes with tons of tailgating during football season, meaning lots of high calorie food and lots of beer. Even when there's no tailgating, just the partying in general is my biggest problem. Not only did it cause weight gain, but I just feel unhealthy. I've gone through phases, mostly during summers, where I didn't drink and ate healthy and it's such a difference in how great I feel.
I have set a few goals for myself to get back into shape now but sometimes I really need another form of motivation, which is why I joined this forum.
The goals I am hoping to achieve include drastically decreasing the amount of alcohol i consume, planning out my meals, and making time in my schedule to get back to the gym!

Thanks for reading everyone! Happy Thanksgiving! (wow, what a day to join a weight loss group, huh? :smilielol5: )

Welcome to the forum, and Happy Thanksgiving hehe!

It's a great place for support, so don't be shy to post problems/questions, diary entries, before/during/after pictures if you feel good enough to do that, etc. There is so much wonderful information on here about eating and working out. Do you currently have any type of exercise routine that you are working on? If not, that would DEFINITELY be something to think about.

Hope to see you around!

Thanks for your reply! I currently don't have a set routine that I've been working on, but I do think that would be a good place to start.
This past summer i'd spend my lunch breaks at the gym doing cardio (usually running for 30 to 45 min), and after work I'd go do a strength training routine. Since I've been at school, though, I stopped w/the strength training, which I plan to get back into this coming week.
There are also a lot of cycling, aerobics, kickboxing and circuit training classes at my gym at school..so maybe i'll make a goal of attending at least 3 during the week, and one on the weekend.
