I posted some of this in the introductions forum, but I supposed that it's better suited here.
I'm just about to turn 20 years old in July. Being that I'm only 3 years out of highschool now, I'm pretty ashamed of the shape that I've let myself get into. The college lifestyle certainly hasn't helped much. In highschool I considered myself to be fairly athletic, never in the best of shape, but I was never really fat. My father's side of the family has a history of diabetes and that is NOT something I want to experience for myself.
Now I feel like I'm at a bit of a turning point, where I'm ready to whip myself into shape. I'm not necessarily looking to become a bodybuilder or get myself the perfect abs or anything like that. I just want to get myself back to a healthy, respectable weight... and then from there we'll see what happens.
I want to try to get there with a solid weight training and cardio program. The problem here is, I have no idea really how to put together such a program for myself. That's where I'm hoping a few of you lovely people could help me out.
