Hi, my name is Myra. After my last visit with my physician this past Monday, she said that I should go on a diet. I have a BMI of 30. I started the 1200 calorie diet the next day (Tues) and have been able to successfully plan my meals within 1200 calories. My physician also subscribed Xenical for me to take. Does anyone have any experience with taking Xenical on a low-calorie diet?

Why 1200 calories?

And there are plenty of threads around here about Xenical. Just search for alli.

I think 1,600 is what I need to keep my weight stable, so I am reducing my calories to 1,200 to 1,400.

1200 is awfully low. I would be leery of any doc trying to push weight loss pills etc on you. I would also be leery of any doc telling you to eat 1200 calories a day. Honestly, a lot of doctors are not that well educated about weight loss--sadly. The following is a great thing to read. Also, if you haven't already, check out the sticky threads on this forum. There is a wealth of good information there.

Most of us on this forum have lost a lot of weight without cutting calories to 1200--myself inlcuded.

Best wishes on your weight loss!:)
