New to HIIT

Hi guys, been trolling but this is my first actual post here.

I was curious about HIIT since I read about it recently in Men's Health and people seem to favor it here for fat loss.

To this point I have been doing FBW 3x a week to meet my goal of muscle gain. Well I'm about 5 months in and I've gained a significant amount of muscle (went from 164 to 174, must be newbie gains). I feel like I have met my goal as far as that goes.

My next goal is to lower my BF%, and it seems like HIIT is the way to go. The only problem is I have never done it before and I've never been a cardio champ.

Now I have a couple questions:
- I don't really prefer to do treadmill/bike, I have been doing stairmaster lately and I think that fits me best. I have heard it is possible to incorporate HIIT into any machine workout, is that true?

-Also, when I use the machine preset workout for "fat burner" it puts it on a scaling intensity that looks something like this: 1 - 3 - 5 - 7- 9 - 7- 5 - 3 - 1
But from what I understand about HIIT its more like: 1 - 9 - 1 - 9 - 1 - 9.

What is the difference in how these intensities effect fat loss?

-My final question is: I want to continue doing FBW workouts M and F to retain my muscle and do my HIIT on wednesday. Is this a feasable schedule to lower my BF%, assuming I keep a good diet?

Thanks in advance for your help.

you are going at a higher intensity so you should be burning more cals

that should be ok,or you could do your fbw on m,w,f, and hit or ss-cardio on none weight days.
