I have decided to take over my 17 year old son's weight training/weight gain program. we feel he needs to put on about 20 to 30 lbs of muscle before next summer. had a very bad year in football, concussion and shoulder injury. i feel bulking him up will allow him more opportunity to play the all out footbal he likes. need help on weight training and weight gain. currently he is about 6' and weighs approx 160lbs.
 
Compound training

Some Training programs:
Strong Lifts 5x5
Starting Strength
New Rules of Lifting


1-1.5 grams of protien per pound of body weight.. he can shoot for 200 grams a day.

does he have fingers? Maybe he could come on-line and learn from us himself..... it will be better for him in the long run.

ff. I want to do this with him as I feel it will be important on a couple fronts. First, I can keep him motivated and help him achieve his goals. he's the type of teenager that needs that kind of push

Second, I believe this will help me also. while I run and bike constantly, I feel some very good strength training will be beneficial
