New Stationary Bike Help

I just got a stationary bike and i have 2 questions.

First off, the calorie counter. I just biked for about 10 minutes and it said i burned 226 calories. I know its an estimation, but do you really burn calories THAT fast?

and 2nd, is there a proper or unproper way to sit on the bike? I tend to lean foward instead of having my back straight. Is this a problem?
Thanks

I've noticed that bikes seem to count calories way faster than any other cardio machine I've used. Usually I set my goals on cardio machines for calories, but for bikes, I use distance as my goal.

Sit up straight on that bike! It's not good for your posture to lean forward like that. Also, if you're sitting up straight, you'll get the added benefit of being able to take deeper, fuller breaths.
