Hi guys, I'm 32 years old and I've been huge into basketball my entire life. About 5 years ago, I had arthroscopic surgery to clean out my knee, and I've steadily had less and less mobility in both my knees since then (perhaps its tendonitis). To compound my problem, I hit the weights hard and put on a good 20 lbs. At the time, it was good weight.
Flash forward to now. I'm a parent of newborn twins, and that weight has morphed me from looking well-built to just stocky. I'm in a basketball league, and I'm moving around like a 40+ year old. How can I regain my mobility with balky knees?
Things that I've tried that have caused pain:
-tried to get in better shape by simply playing a lot of basketball
-tried to build strength in my legs with squats and lunges
-tried the treadmill to increase endurance
Being 5'10" and 195 lbs is probably a cause for pain on my knees, so I recognize thats a place to start. I've started the diet, but what exercises should I be doing to get me back to where I was?
Thanks in advance
