New photos - 8 wks on new diet!

JP, this is interesting. You have got the hamster spinning so to speak. I visited the link and discussed this practice with many of my friends, one of who is a kinesiology professor at the University I am currently attending. The reactions are mixed. However, with those results I have to say that you have me tilted in Auto-Regulation's favor. The main part that stuck out at me is the practice of stopping when FORM has failed, not failure of the muscle groups being worked. Stopping at one's personal drop off would have to prevent overtraining, and also promote growth in lagging bodyparts. Furthermore, the balance would have to be there because you are working each group until its drop off, which means every group is getting the same amount of work, not in quantitative terms, but in the true amount of fatigue placed on each group. Very, very interesting. I have to say I've heard of this topic before and simply brushed it aside because of the complicated nature (calculating a maximum everytime? This is what you have to do, correct?). Also, since everyone's recovery time is different, how can they say that you should be back to normal after 6% fatigue in 3 days? What if a lifter A takes longer to recover from a 6% fatigue than lifter B? I'm interested none the less. (hint hint, refutations to my questions wanted JP ;)). With your success stories, as well as many more I've read about after my extensive search (your post really got me wondering), the program seems to optimize performance by minimizing recovery times. Being able to workout in a more frequent fashion definately optimizes mass gains. Being able to recover and calculate strength increases by the next workout really help in determining progress. It's late, I have to stop. Again, great results JP. You look no more than a day over 21. Few males can hold that amount of muscle mass at ages 30+. Not only does the daily life of raising kids, working, and spending time with your wife get in the way, but the common metabolic slowdowns have already taken their course. It truly is amazing. I would have to wish that I look as you do when I have a wife, kids, and crossed the 30 mark.
P.S: I do want to post some pics. With no scanner I believe I will use the university computer lab for my "purely academic" purposes as soon as I find the pics I want to post. So, they're comin'.

Genius, you obviously "get" the autoreg concept. I will discuss the recovery (supercompensation) phase a little later tonight. I am at the gym right now and need to head home. Thanks for the props. I certainly feel better than I have in many years. It really is a combination of the diet and the training I think. The best thing about autoreg is that the basic concept works perfectly with rehabilitation of injuries as well, so even many of my old injuries have cleared up.

hi jp, new to the forums and im curious to see what you looked like before you started the program. would you mind posting an old pic so i can see how much u have improved?
