Hello everyone! I am pretty sure that next to nobody will remember who I am...but I'm back. I about lived on here for the last half of 2006. I did stop in briefly in the middle of 2007. I always promised I was going to come back, so here I am!
Back when I was losing weight in 2006, I was mostly focused on diet with a little walking a few days a week for exercise. Through the craziness of 2 relocations, and just the general craziness of life, I gained back most of what I had lost simply by not watching what I ate. Ugh. This past October, I made a huge change. I started getting up at 6AM and walking on my treadmill EVERY day for 30 minutes. Hated the alarm - LOVED how I felt after a few minutes of being up and exercising. However, I didn't lose much at all because I wasn't really watching my diet. With the craziness of the holidays, my exercise slipped. A few days ago, I picked back up on my morning exercise (even added some jogging in there!!!!). I am also watching what I eat. I am not calorie counting yet, but because I had done that so tediously before, I pretty much know what everything is and keep it all in check.
OK...that is where I am now. But there is a bit of a difficulty to my exercise. Probably none of you remember, but I was having a lot of weird foot problems with my right foot for the last 3 years. Well, I found out I have a neuroma and have had some treatments with no improvement. Apparently, my only other option is surgery. Since I fear surgery terribly, I am avoiding it for now like the plague. Which means, every day on that treadmill, I am in a lot of pain. Not so much when I first start walking/jogging, but about 10 minutes into it. Sometimes I have to get off and finish off the 30 minutes with another form of cardio.
BUT...all that said, I have told myself, "NO MORE EXUSES!!!" If I am not willing to go get put to sleep and have my foot worked on, then I had jolly well better not use it as an excuse not to exercise!
Anywho...if you stuck around to read all this, then you probably deserve some sort of medal or something. Thanks! ...and I'll be seeing you all around! I will be looking for 'familiar faces' to see how everyone is doing with their goals!
