uHm, Well I'm 14. Ive been trying to lose weight for a while now but i keep getting off track...but now i need to lose weight because i want to play quarterback instead of lineman next year in football season. One of the reasons i get off track is because I haven't told any of my brothers or sisters..it would be awkward to me i guess. I have a treadmill and i don't like using it when people are around, but i suppose i would have to get over that. Well yeah. I have an Ipod Touch and I'm going to use the app Lose It! to count my calories, and exercise, here are some before pictures.

Welcome to the forum.

I would go ahead and use the treadmill if I were you. It is there to be used and the fact that you are using it means that you are trying to become fitter. There is nothing that should make you feel awkward about others knowing that you are trying to become fitter.

I have a treadmill in my living room and use it every day. :)

Food always helps our efforts to get fitter too - so double check that your mother is providing you with meals that are based on lean meat (with fat removed) and cooked without adding a lot of fat.

Lots of fruit and veg are really good too.

I use oil spray a lot for cooking instead of pouring oil - so it would be worth making sure that your mother knows about that.

Also - try to not have too many thick sauces as they can be high in calories.

At your age you are very dependant on the food that your mother provides for you - but if there are any issues you can suggest a slight change of direction...

Good luck.
