new need help

hi I am the married mother of 2 and I need HELP. I have gained sooo much weight in the last 10 years. My husband has been after me too lose which just makes me mad. It shouldn't as he wants me to loose to get healthier. My Dad diead at a very young age of a heart attack and he is afraid the same will happen to me. ( I am too) You think that would be enough motivation but it isn't. I avoid social situations like the plague. I will do things with new friends as they only know me as "FAT" but my old friends I avoid. I live in the town I grew up in. I miss my old friends and want to get back to fit and healthy. I used to be very fit and healthy.
Anyone have any extra willpower???

First of all, welcome! :)

Our situations are different (I'm a 20 year old college student) but I can really relate to what you are saying. I have a family history of weight-related diseases, yet I get upset whenever anyone mentions losing weight or getting healthier, despite the fact that I can't stand to look at myself right now and I want to be thin again more than anything.

I, too, avoid social situations, which sucks because I'm in college. I was much more social in high school when I was thin, but now that I'm heavy again, I avoid anyone I knew or met when I was thin because it's embarassing.

So good luck with your weight loss! You'll find the willpower.
 
Welcome :) My mom used to always be on me about weight from the time I was a little girl to recently. Oh it used to piss me off! :mad: We would fight and I would tell her it was her fault I was fat because if she just left me alone I wouldn't of had to sneak things.. Even as I got older we still fought when I knew she was just doing it to try to help me, but I always took it as a personal attack..

First of all you have to do it because you want to, not because anyone else is telling you too. But I'd like to say you made your first step in coming here :) So your off to a good start, so keep it up and read some of the posts here, it might help you :)

if you ever need any support/ help motivation then just stop by at my weightlossdiary. also if you set one of these up for yourself then post about your days positives and negatives it may help you to achieve your goals- there are a lot of supportive people in there who offer loads of great advice and encouragement.
