I have a one month old and my doctor told me I can start lightly exercising now. Ive been trying to diet but im at home with her all day and i snack =/ I really need some support and help ! Do you guys know any exercises or healthy snacks i could snack on during the day? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Personally I'm trying to stick to fruit only as snacks.

If I really need that "treat" though I opt for a bag of "Snack-A-Jacks". (I dont know where you live but u can get these all over the UK) They are about 130 calories, but only 3% fat so thats a bit better.

EDIT: im not a new mum so im not really sure what im doing here... but anyway... :p

Hi

I have a 3 month old baby girl and I also am at home all day fighting the urge to snack. Here's what I have done to keep my snacking healthier. I let myself have one snack between breakfast and lunch, one between lunch and dinner, and one after dinner. Some snacks that I find satisfying but are not too high in calories (if eaten in moderation) are reduced fat chees-its, carmel rice cakes, and grapes. I usually have 30 grapes (90 calories) as my morning snack. I wash 30 put them in a bowl and it's great because you're satisfying that urge to grab stuff and put it in your mouth over and over (like with a bag of chips). With an apple or something you aren't satisfying tht urge. With the rice cakes I usually eat 2 of these (100 calories) as my evening snack, they are sweet, but aren't empty calories like a candy bar or something. For my snack between lunch and dinner I'm usually craving something salty and crunchy so I have seperated a box of reduced fat cheez-its into seperate ziplock baggies, each containing 29 cheez-its (130 calories worth) so instead of mowing down on the whole box I eat the baggie and know that I'm done. You might be up for dieting a little more hardcore but I know that for me, If I ate only fruits or veggies for snacks I would fall of the wagon in about 3 days. As for exercise, I just bought the Cindy Crawford exercise video "A New Dimension". It's a postnatal exercise video so it targets the areas effected by baby the most. I haven't tried it, it's in the mail. I bought it used on VHS for like 2.00 from Amazon.com, with shipping it was about $4.50. I decided to buy it used on VHS until I know that I like it and will use it, then I will probably buy it on DVD eventually. I'll let you know how it is. Anyway, that's all I got for now. Are you breastfeeding? That should help you to lose weight if you are. I didn't gain any weight during pregnancy, I was 180 when I got pregnant and 180 the day before I delivered. I breastfeed and now I am 150, and hoping to get down to 125. It helps because It burns like 200-500 calories a day. Right now it's closer to 500 calories a day for me because Abby is old enough to be consuming a lot but not old enough to be on any solids. Most breastfeeding lose more weight when their child is between 3-6 months old. Anyway, If you're not then I guess you'll just be able to cut your calories lower and not have to worry about keeping your milk supply up. I aim for about 1600 calores a day right now. Well, If you want a buddy, I know what you're going through so just give me a holler :p
