hello everybody! I am 23 and I had my first baby 3 months ago. I am loving every second of it, but I'm not loving the flab (prepregnancy weight+c-section). I want to start losing weight, eating right, exercising, but I have no idea how to handle it all with a bumbling little boy. It's just so easy to heat up a pizza while he takes a nap or snack while he's doing tummy time, since I never really get a chance to make a real meal and eat it. Please, if there are any suggestions, helpful hints, a miracle pill, just let me know! :)

Hi and welcome to the group. I'm fairly new here too, but not new to dieting or motherhood. I have a 6 year old son and a 6 month old son, and I am 27. I also have had 2 c-sections, so I can completely sympethize with you. Here are some things I do tosave me time when making my meals that are really easy, and they work, I've lost about 24 lbs so far. First of all, I had never bought canned chicken breast until recently, but it tastes just as good and its already cooked. You can add this to anything. I use it in a broccoli & chicken stirfry, or add it to a salad or my favorite quick easy low cal recipe is 1 whole wheat tortilla
1/2 cu brown rice
1/4 cu of black beans
1/4 cup diced tomato
1/2 can chicken breast
2tbsp of salsa
1tbsp fat free sour cream

you can sprinkle a little of fat free cheese on it too, its under 400 calories and very filling. It takes about 5 min to make I just microwave everything together. I keep beans on hand and lots of canned tomatos to save time from chopping and the beans are an easy thing to add anytime I'm pressed for time they are rich in protein and fiber and a healthy carb. I cook brown rice at the beginning of the week so I can just microwave some when I need it, and I dice all my veggies at the beginning too for use throughout the week. Also I love my protein smoothies. Put 1 cu nonfat milk and 1 cu frozen fruit in a blender and add 1 scoop of protein powder this makes a healthy snack or even breakfast. you can add non fat yogurt if you want a richer smoothie taste, or omit protein powder. it is still healthy. under 300 cal with protein powd, under 200 cal without. Also keep fruit around or nonfat cottage cheese for healthy snacks that require no prep time.

These things really help me in my weight loss journey and save me time. As far as excercise. Use your baby. Put the baby in the stroller for a brisk walk, or use the baby as weights for arm excercizes. for your tummy, lay on your back bend your knees and put the baby on your shins. then extend and pull back your legs while keeping your stomach as tight as you can. Great for lower abs.

Hope this helps.
