Hi folks, just discovered your forum today! And what a great discovery
After losing a bunch of weight several years ago, I've become an exercise junky! I love working out and I find the world of nutrition (and how it interracts with exercise) fascinating! I also really enjoy researching the latest news and trends on fitness and diet.
A little background: I'm a 46 year old male, 5'11", and in 2006, I was at my heaviest at 275 pounds. After yoyo-dieting my entire life (you know the cycle...lose, gain, repeat), I decided once and for all to lose weight and keep it off. Over the course of the following eight months, I managed to lose 90 pounds. And I've kept it off for 4 1/2 years. So now, here I am, eager to learn more
My proudest accomplishment was when I completed the Ottawa Marathon in May of 2010. As part of my weight loss journey, I decided to use running as a tool to lose weight and ultimately to maintain my weight. And it has certainly helped! So far I've completed 6 marathons with a personal best time of 3:41! And to think that when I first took up running, I could barely run for 60 seconds!!
