Hey there,
I'm Shea (like the Mets stadium) and I'm a sophomore in college.

Towards the end of my senior year in HS up until I left for college, I lost a lot of weight...in a healthy way (I used Weight Watchers). Needless to say, I'm nowhere near the weight now that I used to be...I'm even more than what I weighed before I started dieting. I have been very unhappy with myself for a long time now and want more than anything to feel good about myself once again.

I hope I can find some much needed support here! :) I'm looking forward to (hopefully) starting new.
Thanks!

It's been awahile

Well, it's been a few months since I've been on the site, and if anything, things have gotten worse. I can eat very healthy and work out for about three days straight, and then it seems like I just let go. I keep binge-ing and I don't know why. I always feel so terrible about it afterwards, but that doesn't stop me from doing it again, even again the day after. I just want to lose weight- even just 10 lbs will help at this point! I'm really frustrated about myself, but I can't seem to get food off of my mind.

Hi Shea, I understand what you are saying, I am in that mode myself right now and need to pick myself back up and back on the saddle again. You can lose your weight with WW's points, that is a form of calorie counting. That is how I lost my weight! I am not a member of WW's, I just use the old way of counting points. Try writing now what you eat each day in a diary. Join weigh yourself everyday club and what did you eat today club. This will help commit you to sticking to your plan. Lots of stuff going on in this site that can help you if you will commit to it.

Welcome to the WLF and good luck to you!!!!!:seeya:

WW is what i used to lose weight 2 years ago and it worked so well! I've been trying to get myself to do that again, but I'm having trouble committing to it again. I think one of my problems might be that I like to eat everything!-there are very few foods (healthy or non) that I won't eat. I sometimes wish I didn't like food as much as I do so I can stay away from the bad things and not over eat.

Hi Shea,

I lost about 100 pounds on WW a few years ago. It was the old point system. The thing about weight loss is that you have to be ready for it. Your mind has to be committed - your body will just follow what your mind tells it to do. I know how you feel. There is very few foods that I don't like either. I LOVE FOOD- always have and always will. Unfortunately that is what got me to 320 pounds. I knew I had to stop. You have come to the right place. This is a wonderful forum full of great information and support. The only thing we can't do for you is to stop you from overeating. This is something you are going to have to do for yourself. Take small steps to begin with. Instead of having two burgers have one. Try replacing fries with salad. Go out and take a walk. Little things that you do will help you lose some weight. Once you start losing weight you will feel better about yourself and want to do more to try to lose even more weight. I read a quote here on the forum somewhere that said something like ' Nothing tastes as good as thin feels'. You can do this!! It is going to take a lot of hard work but it is worth it. Good Luck!!

Hey Shea, sorry to hear that you've been struggling lately :( As cowboy said, you have to be ready for it. I've had clients disappear for a year or more, then suddenly show up again and say, "OK, I'm ready now." Just start small, no more all or nothing thinking. Even simple, small changes are good for your health and can start to help with weight loss.

You can do it! :)

It's a tradeoff - eat now and feel bad afterwards or be mindful of what you eat and feel good most of the time.

Shea, I feel your pain.
