Hi there everyone:)

My name is Kevin and im overweight....(I thought Id say it like an AA meeting lol).

Im 21 and 14st 1 lb, or 197lb if you like.

For my height I am about 35lb overweight and I have had enough.

I needed to find a supportive group like this as I know my willpower will take a beating during this, as im sure people here will understand.

I look forward to taking part and having fun here, and also hopefully reporting of my weight loss.

Thanks!!

Thankyou!

Probably the fastest response to a post ive ever seen:)

Just configured my ticker, I went for the eggs n shells because;
"If you wanna make an omelette, you gotta break some eggs.."

which I think is a good analogy for the sacrifices people make for weigh-loss.:p

Welcome to the forums Ginja Ninja. Do you have a specific method your going to use to lose the weight? Have you researched any of the new lifestyle changes? Sorry to sound like I'm grilling you. I'm just curious.

Welcome! This place is so supportive and amazing! You will love it. Be sure to pick the diet that works best for you and what will last long term. Also be sure to trust yourself and practice self-acceptance - best diet trick in the world. It's not a war between you and the food but rather why you eat in the first place.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Im going about my weight-loss from an exercise point of view rather than food.

Just now I play football (soccer that is for you US folk) once a week for 45 minutes and that is it. No other exercise the rest of the week.
Im lucky as with my job I don't start till 12noon which gives me loads of time in the morning for exercise, so my new plan is as follows.

Mon/Wed/Fri: 20 minute run round my local park. Followed by 10 minute brisk walk (im not fit enough to run the full 30 minutes yet:mad:
Tues/Thurs: 30 minute walk (not as aerobic as other days, this is to give myself a rest but to also get in a little exercise.
Sat: My rest day (usually at the football and then to the pub, but since alcohol is a no-no for me now, im home after the game)
Sun: Sunday is when I play football, I may take an easy walk on sundays, depends how busy I am.

Everymorning Im stretching for 10 mins, followed by reps of sit-ups and push-ups.

In regards to my food, my biggest downfall was lunchtime. I work in the city-centre and for lunch I would always goto either Mcdonalds, Burger King etc, things that were quick and easy. Now I take my own lunch in with me, not only saving money, but major calories. It also means I can have what I want, without eating unhealthily.

The last major thing is alcohol, like most 21yo guys I love a drink down the pub with my mates. Ive decided instead of trying to cut down what I drink, im going to give it up for 4 weeks. I know this seems a bit drastic, but it is easily done. Ive started driving to the pub so that all I can have is juice, and as it was only once or twice a week I drank its not a major issue.

So, by exercising more, cutting down fast food and beer I expect Il make steady progress. Ive just finished day 1 and feel so proud of myself, I also took pictures of myself so that when I achieve my goal, I have before and after photos:D ........heres to my future.........

I'm lucky not to be 21 yet for another 14 days...but I do plan to party on my birthday! woo hoo! Anyway, welcome! Nice to have you here!
