Hello...I'm a mother of two kids and I currently stay at home. Being home and my two pregnancies has made me put some extra kilos. I'm here with the hope of losing those kilos...I currently do cycling or walking for an hour everyday and also try to restrict my calorie consumption to 1200 per day. I don't know what I am not doing right which is the reason for me not ale to lose a pound. I need some genuine advice please..thanks in advance :)

Welcome to the forum. You might try starting a diary in the diary thread. It's a great way to get more tips and support. I would suggest writing down everything you eat for a few days, to make sure that you are eating only 1200 calories. If you're not doing that already, that would be a great place to start. Good luck! :)

Welcome to the forum, Razia.
I second the advice of writing down everything you eat and drink during the day to see how many calories you get. But do write down everything - candy, milk you put in coffee, little snacks you get here and there - the devil is in the details.

I suggest that you get a free account from and log your profile information (things like your height, weight, age and how active you are) plus all your exercise in addition to all the food and drink that you have.

You will then be able to see your calorie balance and therefore whether you are burning more calories than you eat...

You didnt say where you get the idea of 1200 calories from... I cannot tell from your posting whether you want to lose a very small amount of weight or more than that... I have seen people with a lot of weight to lose phrase things in a similar way. 1200 calories seems quite a low amount to shoot for at the start of a project and it could make things harder in the long run if it was a long project.

Thanks

Thank u about your food diary advice. I will certainly have a look into it. How did u manage to lose weight yourself?
