New member fighting against bad habits

Lets admit it, humans constantly whine and complain and possibly even go out of control from having a body they don't want. And people are willing to fight to have a good-looking and healthy body.

I am 17 years old male and I have various personal bad habits that I wish to shake off and need a lot of help with. They are not things like over-eating or smoking, or other commonly known bad habits which trouble people. I also have various other problems that I am eagerly searching solutions for.

But first lets introduce my body.

My height is 171cm and my weight is 52kg. My BMI is terribly low, and completely falling behind the standard BMI of my current height. I have been 171cm/52kg for 5 whole years, from age 12 to today, with only minor changes in weight that instantly changes back to 52kg and no more. I have sleeping problems where I cannot fall asleep and which I feel tired when waking up, so far in my memory I had never had a good nights sleep which people define it to be: well-rested. I can sleep uninterrupted but never feel recovered, sometimes I actually feel that sleeping makes me more tired than a whole 8 hour uninterrupted work out.

I have a balanced diet which I do not believe is a problem, the problem however lies to my "forever unchanging weight" which troubles my grand parents to no end despite my attempts to get fat from eating unhealthy food or over stuffing myself.("OH! Look at you!! So skinny and bony.) I am a generally weak person with a very bad sense of balance, along with the agonizing fact that I cannot take pains and injuries because they heal terribly slow. A minor cut or scrape after several months still pains me when other people would have already healed within weeks.

My bad habits are "nail eating" due to constant nervousness, "bad posture" from lack of sleep and feeling sleepy, and something even I myself find despising and embarrassing: "nose picking" for no particular reason and only makes my nose-holes look ridiculous.

Oh well, I guess starting from reading things on the forum will help.

Eat more. more more more more.

Try eat plenty of calorie dense foods such as nuts, meat, or just anything.

As for the sleeping, that is almost the same as me :L I wake up 2-4 times every night.

I feel your pain. I suffer from Restless leg syndrome and keeps me up alot. Contemplating taking something to encourage sleep sometimes just so I can rest well.

Have you ever tried a medication for sleeping? If so, do you still feel unrested?

You still here OP?

Have you been to the doctor about the slow healing? Has your blood been checked for cell counts and iron and stuff? Maybe even test your hormone levels if you seriously don't heal.

And are you on any kind of medications that might affect sleep? You say you bite your nails through nervousness. Have you had tests for depression and anxiety? They can both affect sleep patterns

And can you post more details about your diet? You say it's balanced but everyone says that. If you're healing slowly I'm wondering if you get enough protein in your diet
