Well, I'm new here. I am trying to lose 100 pounds because I don't want to get diabetes like everyone else in my family who is overweight. A motivation tip I got from my father was to join a forum to get some encouragement from people. So hopefully I will be able to reach my goal within the next two years. I hope to hear from some of you. :D Have a nice day.

It's great that you've decided to make a change towards a healthier lifestyle. This forum has a lot of great reading material, I suggest taking a look into the stickied threads (the ones at the top) and looking through a couple of them.

Also, if you're looking for motivation, try making a weight loss journal/diary, they keep you committed!

Do you have a plan in mind for getting started on some healthy changes?
 
@PLBFitness. Yes. My dad is helping me with both my nutrition and physical fitness, see as he is a personal trainer. I've started walking everyday for at least 20 minutes and I cut back on my sweets a lot. I plan to cut out most sweets (if not all) and eating more veggies and fruits and other healthy foods. As for exercise, I plan to increase my walking to 60 minutes a day and start strength training so that I lose fat and not muscle.
