Hi Im Nicki and I have an eating problem. I have no problem admitting to that.

Im 24 years old and decided I need support on this journey. So here I am.

I havent always been fat. I was a very active child. After I graduated high school 6 years ago, the weight started piling on. Since then, Ive gained 90 pounds... when I hit my max(295 lbs) I decided it was time to do something about it. Ive lost 30 pounds in the last 2 years and kept it off. Now Im getting back onto the road and going for my goal of 100 pounds to make my total 130 lbs lost.

Im married to a bodybuilder/personal trainer. And why most of you are saying " she has the best support system at home", you are wrong. Its not the same being married to one. I feel like sometimes I let my emotions get over me and then I just quit an give up because I know Im not gonna lose anything(money wise...) and because he loves me if Im fat or skinny. I dont work in an environment where I have coworkers(Im a nanny) so I dont meet new people very often.

Diets Ive done it. Low cal, no cal, point counting, shake drinking.. you name it, Ive done it. I lost 30 lbs before without dieting... just drank ALOT of water and exercised midly. Due to my bad knees from all the stuff I did as a kid PLUS all the extra weight is wearing me down. But, its time to just deal with it and get it going.

So, here I am. I decided to find some people going through the same thing as me and hopefully looking for some words of encouragement. I look forward to meeting you all, talking to you all, and hopefully forming some great friendships!

Hey Nicki, welcome to the forum!

It sounds like you have an idea of what you can do to lose weight... Have you thought of starting a journal in the Weight Loss Diary section? It can be a great form of support because you will constantly have other members checking in on your progress and they can encourage you along the way!

Hi Nicki :) I just joined also and looking for pretty much the same thing you are. I think the most helpful advice I can give you is to try your hardest to stay consistant with your exercise & diet. It is so hard on our bodies to be "yo-yo'ed" back and forth. The result is your body basically saying no to any effort you make in getting healthier. I know from personal experience how hard it is to find the motivation to change your habits when you know that your loved one will love you no matter what you look like. What you have to do is dig deep and channel your own desire to change for yourself. Just think of how remarkable it will be when you look in the mirror and are proud of what YOU have accomplished for YOURSELF. & on the subject of not being around anyone in your work environment, I can sympathize with that as well. I am a stay at home mom. My family works and there are kids around me all the time. Cousins and my own 16 month old daughter. Trust me, exercise can be done in such simple ways. Try just jogging in place. My daughter is attached to my hip so its ridiculously hard for me to get in any me time. So i just jog all over the house lol. Even while doing the dishes I just jump while standing there. I just bought a pedometer a few weeks ago. Its cheap and effective. Use it for a few days and see how many steps you usually take in a day. Take that number and try to add atleast 2000 more steps a day. You will be amazing at how just that little step will make a big difference. Anyway, I hope some of this helps. Hope to hear from you soon. Hang in there girl, we are here for you!
