Well, I am new to this website. I have actually been coming here sing the beginning of April and I am just not posting anything.

The whole weight thing started when I graduated and moved to Indiana. I gained roughly 25 pounds the first fall (08). From then until December of 09 my weight gradually went up. At the beginning of January I weighed 270 lbs.

I told myself I need to fix the problem and that is what I have been doing since.

I bought a treadmill and began walking. Running was not an option, I was completely out of shape. So everyday I would get off work and walk, and walk, and walk. Slowly I was able to jog a bit, and then some more. I have now run in about 6 5k's, dropping my first time of just under 40 mins. to 38 and a half yesterday afternoon!

I have made great progress with my eating as well. No more fast food! Soups, salads, turkey and chicken. I will occasionally eat what I want, I think its necessary to keep yourself sane! The biggest thing is cutting junkfood and portions. I never realized how much I was eating until I started counting, I actually wondered how I was gaining so much weight.

Well I think my stats speak for themselves as far as my progress.

Starting weight = 270 lbs
Goal Weight = 185 lbs (I don't know if I will make it but its there)
Current Weight = 206 lbs
I am no longer in the obese catagory for bmi which is great. My cholesterol is down about 20 points. and I no longer have high blood pressure.

I feel great and I am very thankful for this website. It has given me many insights into excercising and living.
