hey everyone! My name is Rachel and i'm 17.

I have been obese/overweight as long as I can remember. Last year I reached my all time high weight of 256 pounds. After being diagnosed with high cholesterol in March 08' I knew it was time for a change. I began eating healthy choice, lean cuisine, cut out all fried foods, and emilinated junk food. A few months later I switched to light wheat bread, skim milk, and lean cuts of meat.

Now I am at 180 pounds and have never felt this great in my life. I have a new confidence and am actually enjoying shopping for clothes(which is actually a dangerous thing now, lol!).

It's been really hard to take off the weight, especially with my family not being supportive at all in the beginning, but I have finally found the strength to say "No" to foods I know will hurt my progress.

My goal is to be 160 by new years, and 140 by next summer!

I hope to get to know all of you!

Down 76 pounds. That's great. It's good to see the small changes (going from 2% to skim or drinking diet pop/cutting down on it) can go a long way too. I like the stories of very supportive family members but mostly see stories of those people being unsupportive, because they're not comfortable with the change or whatever else. I'm sure some of it is perception. Are you exercising as well? I hope you get down to your goal weight. Good luck :).
