New Here!

Hello!! I am new here, but not to dieting. I am 23yrs old and have been struggling with my weight for about 3 years. I have been in college for 5 (going on 6) and through that and getting married I gained the college 50 by the time I was 21. At that time I joined weight watchers and successfuly lost ~ 20lbs. Then I thought I could do it along (that didn't work so well). Anyways, since then I have been up and down, but able to semi-maintain at around 180lbs.

Well, I am over it! I am ready and committed to loose the last 30+ lbs that my education has helped me gain. I graduate from grad school in May and would love to be back down in the 140 range. On top of that, my mother-in-law is getting married in Hawaii next October and I want to look great in my bathing suit!

I have started eating the way I know I need to and walking at least 30min a day. I would love to exercise more, but I know that I will not have a lot of free time once school gets rolling.

Thats just a little about me! I can't wait to get to know you all!! :D

I am currently going into my last year of grad school for Occupational Therapy (yet another motivation to loose weight). I don't want to be the over weight heath care provider telling people they need to loose weight.

I am feeling really good right now! I started eating right (what I previously learned at WW) about 3 weeks ago... thats why my ticker says I have already lost 6.8lbs. I think I was heavier than 190, but I have always been against owning a scale... until now!

Haha, I've owned many scales. I find that the old fashoined kind work best. Digital are supposed to be more accurate, but they only are if you buy an expensive one.

Your motivation makes a great deal of sense.

Hi Tiffany!

I'm also 23 and trying to lose 30lbs. My short term goal is 19lbs by October 26, then I'll set another goal to try and meet. I go back to school October 8 so I'll have a jam-packed schedule then.

I agree with SWilly if you get a scale go for the old fashioned yet simple scale. They really work better than the digital.

GL One your WL journey. :hug2:

1. Congrats on the weight loss already... sounds like you are on the right track!

2. Welcome to the community. :)

3. Congrats on almost being done grad school.

Thanks, Steve! My first day of my last year of school is today!! We have 4 hours straight of class this afternoon :s.

School is a special kind of stressor (I'll be starting my junior year as an undergrad next winter- I plan on going to graduate school to become a psychologist). I'm rooting for ya.
