New here, not sure to bulk or cut?

Hi all, new to this forum and very excited to hear what you all have to say. I was near 300lbs until 2009 when I stopped getting hungry and lost 90lbs. It was very unhealthy, and my kidneys almost failed. When I had it under control I went back to around 235lbs. At that point I decided to do it the right way and hit the gym (dec 2011). As of today I am 6'0" 187lbs 17% body fat and feel healthier then ever. I haven't been following any diets or exercise regimen, but I've used common sense and seen major results. Basically I've been eating deficit calories and watching carbs(loosely) while exercising every couple days. At the gym I do 10min cardio/lift/15min cardio and it has worked great to get me where I am, but a buddy is trying to talk me into starting a bulk. I still have unsightly fat around my belly, as to be expected since I was a fat kid for years and I still have leaning out I'd like to do. But I also have been wanting to build muscle and bulk for a long time. I recently started keeping track of my whole diet to make sure I'm rationing correctly, so it could help either scenario drastically. Any tips or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks
