hi, im a 17 year old, 5 foot 10, 170 lb male. Last year in october i was 195 lbs and over the summer i realized i got down to about 175 without even really trying. I decided to go on a diet and was really dumb about it and cut the calories and exercised too much and went into starvation mode. I got down to like 160 and stayed there for like 4 months but i could tell that i was feeling sick and always moody and did some research and found out why. Now i eat about 2000-2500 calories a day and do hiit 3 days a week and on the off days i have a physical job that i collect carriges and do alot of walking at a supermarket. Im not loosing weight though and i dont know why. any suggestions?

You're 17 man. Don't even bother trying to diet. Hit the weights hard and eat like 3000 calories a day and build muscle. You're at the perfect stage in your life to pack on a shit ton of muscle.

At 5'10" and you still want to lose weight at 170lbs? It would be a better idea to bulk up so you can build some lean mass. Slowly increase your calorie intake. If you are eating about 2000 per day, then start eating about 2300-2500 calories per day for about 2 weeks, and then add 300-500 more after that.

Also, weigh yourself every 2 weeks instead of almost everyday if you are doing that. I used to weigh myself everyday and it drove me nuts!

i really only want to get to 165 but ive been stuck at 170 for a while. i guess i am just going to have to start eating more. All these websites with the calorie calculators all give different numbers so they are hard to go by.

im getting so agitated now, i eat about 2500 calories maybe a little more a day, do hiit 3 times a week, and get exercise from my job on the days i dont do hiit. I eat every 2-3 hours, i drink lots of water. now i weight 174 lbs. Its not making sense, all this hard work and determination and im going the other way for some reason

Forget the scales, take measurement as a better guide to changes, chest, bicep, waist, hip, thigh and calf. Take photo's it can sometime be easier to spot changes. Get your bodyfat % measured by an experienced person and track your fat loss that way, the scales dont help to measure fat loss especially when there is a possibility of muscle gain.

someone led me to this website to find the calorie requirements for teens ( ) it says that for my height/weight/age i should eat:
inactive-2730
low activity-3210
moderate-3680
very active-4270

doesnt that seem really high? all these websites give different numbers so i have no idea what to go by. I would consider myself very active because i do hiit every other day and on the offdays i have a very physical job
