hi. im 16 and weigh about 300 pounds. im 6 ft tall exactly. I've been fat for pretty much my whole life and ive only tried once to even lose some of it (last summer) but once school started up i quit. Anyway i made up my own way to lose some weight. heres my "program"

sunday: walk/run
monday: rest
tuesday: walk/run
wednesday: rest
thursday: walk/run
friday: bowling for ~3 hours
saturday: rest

for walk/run this is what I do. I walk about 1/2 a mile to the track nearby. Then I walk 4 laps but on the 2nd straight I run it. Then i walk 1/2 a mile back home. It takes about 40-50 minutes for me. Once I increase my stamina I will be running all of the straights. Anyway, any suggestions? Also for food my mom usually makes my lunch and dinner. She makes sandwitches for lunch usually, and homemade meals for dinner such as porkchops, macaroni and cheese, steak, chicken, etc. but she always includes vegetables. Sometimes she makes fried foods too though, but I will tell her not to make them for me. She makes good salads too. And I like never eat breakfast because I wake up between 10 and 2pm.

Tell your mother that you can get a spray to use for frying - it is called fry light in England but I know that other countries have similar products. There is only one calorie per spray - so a whole load of fried food that could otherwise be high in calories become low in calories. In supermarkets here it is located near the cooking oil.

You mention eating vegetables - but fruit are great too. We are all supposed to have at least 5 portions of fruit or veg a day. Try to be sure that you are having enough.

You do not mention milk or yoghurts - and it can be a good idea to make sure that you are getting enough calcium. It helps our bones and also helps us to lose weight. There are low fat versions of a lot of dairy products which can be really useful.

Exercise is awesome and always a good thing to include in your day, but when it comes to losing weight, what you eat is 80% or more of the battle.

Not only do you need to eat healthy foods, you need to eat them in healthy amounts. Pay close attention to your serving sizes ... most people aren't really aware of what a proper single serving size is. We've been influenced by many years of eating restaurant sized servings, which are normally big enough for 2 people - or more.

I would suggest registering with fitday.com or dailyplate.com or one of those free sites that let you track your food. You can enter what you've eaten and see how many calories you're getting and how your nutrients look.

As far as breakfast, you should always eat something shortly after you wake up. It doesn't matter what time of day it is ... if you wake up and eat lunch, that's fine. But make sure you're not going hours w/out food.

Good luck to you! :)
