New Here from NC

Hello all,

Just wanted to say I am a :newbie: here... I am from North Carolina and have 3 beautiful daughters and an awesome wife. I work in the Automobile auto industry in Quality Control.

I am 6' 190lbs. I am a beginner.

Blue Skies,

blue skies to you bro

I found this place as a result of a hard landing right around 1200 jumps. Made 3 jumps this Saturday, and I am doing an Ironman event this coming Sunday.

Welcome to the forum.

Tell us all about it. Your history. What you were thinking, or have going on, that made you step up to the search engine and type "fitness."

Actually, I had to quit skydiving for a while because after my divorce, I won custody of my two daughters (13 and 9). I don't receive much support, so I had to put jumping on the back burner for a while.

I have since re-married and she is in the Army (I must at least be as fit as my wife). We decided to have our own and I ended up with daughter #3... (Anyone need a little estrogen?)

I am doing this for myself but my daughters are going to need me around a little longer so this can't hurt.

I have started Chantix 3 weeks ago. I still have urges but I guess it's the 14 years of "muscle memory" I have acquired.

Thanks for the reply. Good to see another skydiver here!

how did you end up talking about not smioking? I quit about 15 months ago, and that is how I found out about forums?

HEY- with that chantrix stuff don't go comitting suicide on us- LOL!!!

welcome to the frum...

oh and P.S. I have a wife and 2 daughters, and a son. My oldest daughter is 16 and you can keep your estrogen.

UM....
and my experience shows if you are competing with a girl- yer in trouble!

blue skies,

Wow, Congratulations on quitting!

So far, no crazy side effects from chantix.. Just vivid dreams.

Thanks for the welcome!

Kids are great! I just wish I could afford to try for boy :bncry:

This has me thinking. After I quit smoking and I train, do you think it's possible for an ex smoker to compete competitivly in an Ironman event or even a half-marathon event? I would really love to do the Ironman once before I die. That's on my list!

Thanks again for the welcome,

C
