New here and after advice

Hi all,
I am looking to lead a healthier lifestyle. I am 30yrs old and have high blood pressure. I realise the best thing i can do to reduce/control this problem is exercise.

My problem is i work all day and when i get in my wife goes of to work whilst i look after my little girl. By 19:30 my daughter is in bed so this leaves me some time to myself. The nurse i see regarding my BP recommends i invest in a piece of fitness equipment i can do at home once my daughters in bed.

I like the idea of an exercise bike, but my problem is i cannot decide whether it would be better to by a convential exercise bike or a bike that has the moving handle bars for an all round workout.

I think i would get along better with a conventional exercise, but i don't want to waste money on something that won't do the job.

any views would be great

regards
Paul :D

watch out, mate. Some excersise bikes are LOUD! You just might wake your little one up :(. So get a good quality one, because the cheap ones usually make lotta noise, especially if she sleeps on the lower floor and you excersise on the second floor.

exercise bike

Thanks for the advice.

I never really thought about waking my daughter up. I will consider this when buying the bike.

Thanks again
Paul

Yup, not much you can't do with a power rack, free weights, and an adjustable bench.

Paul, some more ideas for you (cheap)
--Get a 17.5X25 or 20X25 inch front loader tractor tire (michellin dealers will give them away instead of having to pay to haul them off). Flip this sucker.
--Get an empty, used keg from a liquor store. Throw this sucker
--Get some rope, wrap it around the axle of your car, drag and/or pull it
--Get some 5-10 gallon paint buckets, fill them with heavy objects and/or dumbbells or weight plates. Farmers walks rock.

That'll be more than enough to get some hella' strength goin
