Hi, my name is Ruben, im 24 from Tampa Bay, FL. Ive been currently on my quest to loose wight and doing good, i came here for some advice, encouragement, etc. Starting weight was 264 on Nov 3 06, currently at 243 today.
 
It just seems really hard to loose any fat, i have taken 2 inches off my waist so far. I workout like an animal, doing and hour of cardio a day, and my diet consists of 1300-1500 calories (nutrisystem).

Loosing 21lbs in a little over a month is great....keep it up! Do you like using Nutrisystems? I had considered trying it out but decided to go the Weight Watcher route which I am pretty pleased with so far. The one thing that I do that I think has helped lose some fat is cardio everyday and weight training every Monday, Wednesday, Friday...it seems to be working for me, you may want to try it out.

Nutrisystem is great, i have tried weight watchers before, along with a bunch of other stuff to no avail. Its expensive but pretty much idiot proof, so it works for me. And you get to play with the options, the system has you adding stuff to the meals, like breakfast would consist of :
1 apple
8oz skim milk
Nutrisystem Breakfast entree
slice of wheat bread

Ok im a little disapointed, i went to go get weighed in at the recruiter, im down 7 lbs since last week but somehow my gut is .5 inches bigger, so WTF.
 
I wouldn't sweat that. You're headed in the right direction. I've found that after some of my most intense weeks of exercising, I haven't gotten nearly the results I wanted. Also, you mentioned that you do an hour of cardio a day. Make sure you're getting plenty of protein, or you could be losing muscle as well. At least that's my understanding of how it works.

You know several times I had the opposite effect, I'd have not lost any weight for the week but some inches are gone. odd!
 
Yeah im doing everything i can to maintain muscle, I have a protein serving with every meal, and the nutrisystem desserts all have like 12g of protein. Im just loosing fat from everywhere except where i need it :rolleyes:. Oh well, im down another pound on my off day, so i guess thats a good thing.
