Hello everyone, I'm Cody from Alabama.

I been dieting and exercising for a week and a half. not a single pound lost yet but heres hoping. :p

I dunno, I do a lot of weight training. could I be putting on muscle and losing weight thus making the sdcale useless to me this early on in the progress?

I'll post some pics in the before and after section later... of course it'll only be a before.. no after available yet lol. :D

Hi Cody,
Welcome to the WLF :)

The only way you can be gaining muscle is if you're bringing in more calories then you're burning. I keep hearing there's no way to build muscle if you're in a caloric deficit.

Have you checked out or ? They're both resources for tracking calories, nutrition and fitness.

Best of luck to you and feel free to start a journal over in the diary section so that we can get to know you :)

It depends greatly on what you are eating, if you are in fact losing fat and gaining lean muscle. Muscles are built from protein and water, so if your diet is high in those two fields and you are working out then you are likely building lean muscle. This is not bad, most scientific studies indicate that muscle gain improves metabolism greatly.

My advice to you is to track what you eay, eat for the nutritional value, not the fullness value and you will do just fine.

from my research I built my own diet and watch the progress through Fitday.com

Howdy Cody and welcome to the forum. You try asking your question in the section called "the harsh truth". You're supposed to be able to get answers from pros. Anyway, good luck on your soon success and don't give up. :)
