New Guy - Cant lose weight

Thought I would try a message board to maybe get some ideas......

I went from 240lbs to 218lbs from April 1st to May 15th. I am a 6'-0" Male and fairly stocky. Since May15th I have been stuck at 218lbs. I am on a strict 1800 calorie/day diet, I do a 10k 4x per week, do P90x 2x per week, and briskly walk for 40 mins at lunch everyday plus on the weekend am doing 5-6hours of hard yard labor to get our house ready for summer. Its hard to believe in a month I have not lost a single pound. It doesn't add up to work this hard and eat so well not to see results. My scale has told me that I have gone from a 31% body fat to a 24% body fat though since April 1st.
 
Plateaus happen. I had a 1 month long plateau about this time last year, eating about the same number of calories you are. Patience.
 
I'll add my agreement to the others. Some people just don't lose weight on a steady slide. Some people lose, then plateau, then lose then plateau ... and yes it's frustrating. That's how I lose weight myself and sometimes it drives me crazy.

One thing is that you need ot make sure that you still are eating 1800 calories - it's really easy to get sloppy and eat more than you think you are, especially after you've been doing this a while and seen some success. Make sure you're weighing or measuring your servings rather than eyeballing them.

Other than that, just be patient. Keep doing the right things and the weight will begin to move again.
