New girl - UK

Hi everyone,

So I've finally decided to stop making excuses and get on with changing the things that bother me. I'm so happy to find this forum, it looks like a great a way to fuel my motivation and get inspiration from like-minded folks. I've never used something like this when I've tried to lose weight in the past, but it looks like good fun!

I'm 24 and I have yo-yo'd with my weight for years, swinging wildly between underweight and overweight. Obviously I'm on an overweight swing now, lol, and I have maybe 50/max 60 pounds to lose which I'm hoping to do slowly and sensibly for once so I can break this cycle of dieting and binging once and for all. I really think it's time to be good to myself and to focus on getting healthy as opposed to simply getting thin.

Thanks for reading and I hope to get to know some of you soon =)

From the UK too with a similar story of yo-yo dieting - which led me to being overweight and having really disordered eating habits...

I joined recently, and so far loving it :)

Good for you to focus on what are the most important goals -- getting healthy and being good to yourself! That is a great place to put your focus, on a much more long-term goal.

Hey, welcome. I'm from the UK too.

I agree with the above. The best thing is to concentrate on being healthy! Thats all that matters.

Good luck! You should make a diary and get started! :D

Im from UK as well
Hope you find all the help/advice and motivation you need to reach your goals

I just read today something that Cym wrote (you should check out her diary!) that said, and she has transformed herself, really, that in the end, since she's reached her goal weight, that the number on the scale had really very little to do with the person she's become. Its all the other little changes.

Welcome to WLF. Read as much as you can, esp News for Newcomers. And dive in to your diary. You'll love it when people respond to you.

I've been on this effort for six months and it really keeps me going. Right now my problem is getting motivated to get back to exercising after a two month break. I'm sure I'll get the help I need.
